After having served on PPNF’s Active Board, Advisory Board, and Honorary Board over the past 18 years, it was an honor to be chosen to serve as their Executive Director in March 2005.
This is a labor of love for me. I was introduced to nutrition and alternative medicine 38 years ago by my wonderful, inspiring mother. I became an RN in 1974 and over the years have also gained training and experience in other alternative medicine modalities. This has given me a respect and understanding for both Eastern and Western medicine, but my passion has always been in nutrition. I believe that properly nourishing the body is the key to enhancing the body-mind-spirit connection.
In addition to nursing and alternative medicine, I also bring to PPNF experience in administration, business development, program development, community and professional education, marketing, and community relations.
Pat Connolly, PPNF’s Curator, is still very much involved in the organization, concentrating on working on our ever-increasing archival materials. She is, and always will be, my greatest mentor.
One of the first things I did when I became Executive Director was to read every single member questionnaire you sent in when renewing your membership. I thank you for your continued support of PPNF, and welcome your ideas and suggestions. Please know that your voice is heard. Feel free to e-mail me directly at Joan@ppnf.org.
We have an important mission to carry on at PPNF. As the keeper
of the original research of Weston A. Price, DDS, Francis M. Pottenger
Jr., MD., and other nutrition pioneers of our time, PPNF lights
the way for teaching the wisdom of the past and applying it to today,
for the health and well-being of generations to come.
We have kept the work alive and protected from misinterpretation.
Now is the time to be more proactive in disseminating this information
out into the world. Our immediate goals are:
To expand marketing efforts to reach more people with PPNF’s
message.
To increase information on the PPNF web site for our members.
To provide lectures and seminars to both the public and professionals.
To provide e-newsletters with current up-to-date information.
I wish to thank the Board of Directors, the staff at PPNF, and the many enthusiastic, qualified volunteers who are part of our team that will take PPNF to the next level of success. This is an exciting time for PPNF. The team is in place, the timing is right, and the world is ready to hear our message.
Joan Grinzi, RN
Executive Director
